Interested in becoming a seller on the Handmade Artists' Shop? Well, this is what you need to know. First, you need to be a handmade artist; so look at yourself; are you a handmade artist? If so, you're in the right place. Next, you need to be a paid subscriber of the Handmade Artists' Forum. Sound too hard? Sorry, that is how it works. The Handmade Artists' Forum is a community of just that, handmade artists. They create and sell their goods on many different venues. The forum has become a place where our members can discuss various techniques they use to create their pieces as well as offer constructive criticism and encouragement to each other. This site was born out of our members need to be able to sell their creations in a venue that cares about handmade and handmade only.
So what do I get from my paid subscription?
You get access to this site and the ability to sell your handmade items.
You also get access to the private sellers’ area of the Handmade Artists' Forum. The sellers’ area is not visible to the general public nor is it visible to other forum members who do not have a paid subscription. The idea behind the private sellers’ area of the forum is to give our members who sell on the Handmade Artists’ Shop a place to discuss anything they want privately about the business of being a handmade artist who sells their wares online. It’s other purpose is to give support and answer questions regarding setting up your shop as well as technical help.
So what features do we have in our shop?
Here’s the short list:
• Customers can buy from multiple vendors through one checkout point.
• Payment through Paypal, other payment gateways are available upon request
• All items are automatically added to Google Product Search!
• Create multiple pages in your shop like a mini blog.
• (SEO) Search engine optimization controlled completely by the shop owner
• Post multiple images per listing.
These are just a few of the highpoints. There are many additional features with even more to come.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Simply put, all you have to do is be a paid subscriber on The Handmade Artists' Forum and you are ready to go.
We don’t charge any listing fees or commission.
What can I sell? What is not allowed?
You can sell only handmade items. Simple!
You can not sell the following:
• Resale or massed produced items
• Unaltered vintage. What do we mean by this? Well, don’t list your grandmother’s sweater. There are plenty of places that you can sell vintage; on the other hand, if take a vintage item and alter it into something else or incorporate it into a new design then post away.
• Mature items. If it’s not safe work or you wouldn’t let your kids see it then do not post it.
• Non-Handmade Supplies. There are multiple sites where you can buy commercial supplies. Get a bunch and make a ton of handmade goodies. If you make handmade supplies, such as lampwork or polymer clad beads, then post away!
I hope you get the idea of the type of content we allow on this site. Please respect other artists by following these rules.
Sounds good so how do I sign up?
First of all, you need to be signed up as a member of the forum as stated above and started your paid subscription. To subscribe, go to your forum profile and click the link that says paid subscription. Sign up using reoccurring payments in order to avoid getting monthly bills. If you want to stop payments and close your shop you may do so at anytime. Please understand that we will not refund partial months. Our $5.00 a month works out to about 16 cents a day, so roll the dice and give it a shot. It is worth the effort.
Once you have your paid subscription, click vendor sign up and fill out the form. Please use the same user name that you used to create your forum account! Once your paid subscription is confirmed your shop will be approved and you will gain access to your own private seller’s dashboard. This is a different login than the main page; sellers have private access to their shop.
Well, I hope this wasn’t too much information to process but unfortunately we have to be specific so that people understand completely the rules and expectations.
Our mission is to create a safe and secure area for our forum members to sell their wares as well as give the world a place to buy high quality, handmade items from real artists.
That’s it! Congratulations for getting to the bottom of the page and happy selling!
